Sawkings Architects were appointed to develop a concept design for a potential residential scheme in Walton-on-Thames, exploring the opportunity to transform an underdeveloped parcel of land into a bespoke, high-end family home.

The proposal takes inspiration from traditional British residential architecture, with a balanced and composed elevation delivered through red brickwork, contrasting stone detailing, classical proportions and a prominent central entrance. Carefully considered window positioning and detailing, horizontal banding, projecting dormer windows and a hipped roof contribute to a refined architectural language that gives the dwelling a sense of permanence and grandeur.

The landscaped setting forms an integral part of the composition, with structured planting and a generous approach creating a strong sense of arrival while framing the principal elevation. Together, the architecture and landscape seek to create an elegant contemporary interpretation of a traditional country residence, performing to current standards.
