Wyddial Hall

Wyddial Hall is a Grade II* listed historic building located in Buntingford, East Hertfordshire. Parts of Wyddial Hall date back to the 16th century and there is evidence that there may have even been a Roman residence in this location.

Sawkings Architects were appointed to undertake revised listed building consent applications and building upon an existing consent to deliver works to new and existing areas. Upon a successful application, new outbuildings and landscape proposals, a large garden extension and ancillary accommodation to the various equestrian uses across the site have been constructed.

Wyddial had suffered from intervention works of poor quality, the focus of the project by working closely with the client, is to restore and upgrade the existing house with sensitivity creating a comfortable but historic asset to be enjoyed for many more years to come.

Sawkings Architects have been administering the tender and construction process on site to a demanding brief and timescale, coordinating and working across a large list of suppliers, consultants, and artisans.

The works to Wyddial Hall are due to be completed in mid-summer 2022.
